I'm Jani, a wedding photographer from Herttoniemi in East Helsinki — an observant type who loves telling stories through images. In my wedding photography I work from a documentary perspective: I seek out and record authentic, spontaneous moments and the small sparks of chemistry between people. At the core of my work is a calm, trust-building presence — I can be as stealthy as a ninja when needed, but I'm always near you, ready to capture the exact right moment. Why choose me as your wedding photographer? Because I approach weddings with a storyteller's mindset. I don't look for over-posed scenes; I want the photos to convey the feeling you experienced that day. In wedding portraits I focus on the couple's dynamic: together we find natural moments where your personalities can shine. If being in front of the camera feels nerve-racking, we'll practise and find ease beforehand — my aim is that the images show you as yourselves. My way of working is personal and proactive. I always meet couples in advance, listen to your wishes and plan locations and moods you want preserved. On the wedding day I blend into the surroundings and document the flow, while also creating space for calm portrait moments where the two of you can breathe and be present with one another. I also offer relaxed engagement photography and portrait sessions to help you feel comfortable in front of the camera. In editing I aim for natural, crisp realism — balancing colours and contrast in a way that respects the day's atmosphere without masking it. The images are prepared and finished so they work beautifully both in personal albums and as shareable memories for family and friends. I primarily operate in East Helsinki but am available for assignments further afield by agreement.
