Studio Taikalyhty is a Lappeenranta-based photography studio specializing in wedding photography, led by portrait photography professional Pia Alatalo. My wedding work blends documentary realism with a careful, portrait-driven eye — I aim to record your day as it is experienced: genuine expressions, quiet moments and the overall atmosphere of the celebration. I approach wedding photography as a responsible form of storytelling: I can document preparation, the ceremony, environmental portraits and the venue’s atmosphere through to the last moments of the evening. Photography planning is done together — you tell me your wishes and the moments that matter, and I bring my professional skills, experience and calm approach. If you wish, we can also plan morning-after (boudoir) images or an engagement session before the wedding; these add depth and personal nuance to the visual story. At the heart of the shooting is a relaxed, trusting atmosphere. I aim to make the session an experience where you can enjoy the moment without unnecessary direction — many of my clients have told me they were surprised by how natural it all felt. Our studio in Lauritsala provides a calm setting for portraits, and the nearby environment offers varied locations across the Lappeenranta area for versatile imagery. The studio is wheelchair accessible and there is ample parking for easy arrival. My professional expertise is built on long-term practice and formal qualifications: I began working as a photographer in 1994, completed the Photographer’s Vocational Qualification (VAT) in 2000 and the Specialist Photographer Qualification (VEAT) in 2015. I have also received awards in portrait competitions, reflecting my commitment to capturing the human element. The final result is a personal, narrative image collection — delivered as fully edited digital files, traditional photo albums or modern photo books according to your wishes.
