Hello, I’m Helin — based in Kouvola, and my passion is people and the moments between them. As a wedding photographer I approach every wedding day first and foremost as a storyteller: I aim to capture the genuine moments that tell your story. For me, wedding photography is not just posed portraits or staged scenes, but recording atmosphere, touch and small expressions with a documentary, emotion-led approach. I prefer shooting outdoors in natural settings with a lifestyle feel, but I also work from my studio in Kuusankoski. I love finding the exact place and light where a couple’s connection opens up naturally. At the same time I strive to create a calm and encouraging atmosphere during shoots: the best images come when you are relaxed and fully present in your moment. My working style is personal and well planned. We usually begin with a planning meeting so I understand your wishes, the key moments and your day’s schedule. On the wedding day I focus on being present but unobtrusive — able to capture both documentary moments and beautiful portraits without unnecessary direction. Over the years I have photographed weddings outside Finland as well, so distance is not an obstacle if you want me to be part of your special day. I’m especially interested in engagement and pre-wedding sessions — they offer a relaxed opportunity to get to know each other before the wedding and to build a visual style that will continue on the day itself. Portraits and documentary material support each other: photographs remind you of the feelings you want to keep safe for years to come. It’s important to me that your wedding images feel timeless and reflect your personality.
